So you need to define your ideal customer avatar, this perfect customer who you know intimately and understand their fears and aspirations.
Well, you will need to create a person in your mind. This Ideal Customer Avatar is the person who ideally wants and loves your content he/she looks forward to receiving your content and buys all your products as they get such benefit from your products and are happy to refer you to their friends and family.
Now even though there are billions of people in the world, we are just going to focus on this one person this one Ideal Customer Avatar.
By focussing just on a single person will enable you to focus on their specific needs and problems rather than a vast mixture or desires and issues.
Laser-focused
It will allow you to become laser-focused in knowing your ideal customer avatar resulting in your content is clear, concentrated and highly relevant.
Firstly write a detailed description of your Ideal Customer Avatar. Now, you are probably going to be making this Ideal Customer Avatar up, but you still need to really drive deep and describe the avatar as detailed as possible.

- Do they belong to specific groups?
- Do they visit specific forums?
- What topics are of interest?
- What social media do they use?
- What blogs do they read?
- What podcasts do they listen too?
- What types of YouTube videos do they watch?
- What is it that they really want?
- Extra money to make ends meet?
- Or do they want a totally different job/career?
- Are they looking for time freedom?
- Looking to fire the boss?
- What is stopping them from getting want they really want?
- No money to invest?
- No time to do something else/new?
- Family commitments?
- Stress?
Really spend some time getting to know your Ideal customer avatar especially looking at their specific pain points and frustrations.
A great way is to think what is it that keeps them up at night?
Now if you already have a client base, irrespective of the size of the customer base you can start talking to them or surveying them.
When you will benefit the most if you make sure that you are listening to them. Listening to there responses and then engaging with them to dig deeper into their pain points and frustrations will prove to be invaluable.
You can also do some research online.
1. Ask prodding questions on Facebook groups
2. Review and comment in the online forums
3. Review the comments on blog posts
4. Visit competitors’ blogs and look at the comments
In doing this you will be finding out what your ideal customer’s pain points and frustrations are. Even though the people you will be speaking to is someone else’s customer they will also be your ideal customer avatars and it will still be very effective.
Look at the comments and see what your ideal customer avatars are talking about.
You will then be in a better position to actually create content to solve their specific frustrations and problems.
Now all you need to do is create the content to solve their specific frustrations / problems and they will find it.
