The Number One Reason People Fail in Internet Marketing

In over 14 years online there’s a few things that I’ve noticed that the average person does that causes them to fail with internet marketing.

There’s a fat chance that you’ll find success online if you’re making these mistakes. So make sure that you do your best to avoid these internet marketing mistakes like the plague if you want to make money online.

Mistake #1 – Failure to Build An Email List

I was online for maybe 4 or 5 years before I ever purchased an autoresponder.

If you’re not familiar with autoresponders, they are simply the software that you use to build YOUR OWN database of contacts.

The true benefit of having an autoresponder is that these are leads that YOU own. And as long as you pay your autoresponder bill every month nobody can ever take those leads away from you.

What that means for you, is if you want to send an email to your contacts about a business opportunity one day, and a new affiliate product that helps create animated videos the next, you have the free reign to do so.

The bottom line is you need to be building your list.

Creating a list of cell phones that you can market to through the use of text messaging is also not a bad idea. But email marketing is king.

Mistake #2 – Not Understanding the Importance of Paid Traffic

This is something that I learned the hard way.

People who consistently purchase paid advertising for their business will run circles around they who only use free advertising.

The problem with paid traffic is that if you don’t have deep pockets you need to see an ROI immediately. If you don’t see an immediate return on investment you can’t sustain your advertising. This ultimately leads to people giving up and feeling discouraged.

To really see results from paid advertising you have to be able to run traffic to your offers consistently. This means at best once a week, but preferably even every day.

If you utilize free strategies and are lucky enough to land a considerable sale, the smartest thing you could do is reinvest some of those funds back into PAID ads.

Mistake #3 – Lack of Consistency

The worst thing you can do online is not being consistent.

I guess that goes with pretty much anything in life when your goal is to achieve something significant.

Piggy backing off of what I said in section 2, you have to be consistent.

Now this is especially true for those of you who want to make money online but don’t have much money for advertising.

If you are forced to do free marketing you have to be 10x more consistent than the next person in order to get results.

That’s the second problem with free advertising methods like Facebook, YouTube, and Instagram marketing is that they are insanely competitive.

In order for you to stand out in this niche you have to outwork, outteach, and outperform your competitors.

And there are lots of hungry people out there online, so you better be hungrier!

Final Thoughts

These are just a few of the mistakes people make when they get into online marketing.

If you want to speed up your learning curve and ultimately your success, you want to avoid these mistakes at all costs.

Anyone who can focus on having a positive mindset, being consistent, committing to paid advertising and building an email list can make money online.

Whatever you do… don’t give up!
