Today searching Google there are 3,980,000,000 people searching “work at home”; 574,000,000 people searching “make money online” and 1,690,000,000 people searching “how to start an online business” Are you one of these people? So here are some thoughts on staying motivated when starting a business and working online.
A few years ago I had two dreams one, to set-up an online business, the other to winter in the sun, I could see each would compliment each other. Well here I am wintering in Spain, building my affiliate marketing business, whilst my partner follows his sporting hobbies. In the afternoons we have time to explore our surroundings. So I have achieved time freedom too!
An online business, like any other doesn’t happen overnight, it takes time to grow and become successful. You therefore have to keep motivated. So either choose a topic for your business that you have a burning desire to learn more about, like a hobby; so that you will enjoy the time spent on your business, or a reason why you are building it, preferably both.
To stay motivated you need a burning desire to succeed when starting your business, and sacrificing spare, or TV time to build it. You need a goal. Maybe something simple like better holidays, a new car, to put your youngsters through education; you hate commuting and want to work at home with a flexible schedule, or to retire early. Whatever the reason, it has to be really important to you and forever in the forefront of your mind, if you really want to stay motivated.
You also have to believe you will succeed. Don’t let anyone persuade you otherwise. Other people have built great online businesses so can you. There are small hobby businesses and millionaires online; the choice is yours.
See your goal, your reason why you are starting your online business and the end result, in your imagination. Every day in your spare moments, build a picture in your mind of how great it will be to succeed. Congratulate yourself daily on every step nearer your time investment has taken you.
Your new venture should be an enjoyable challenge that excites and interests you. Feel excitement for every small achievement. Every step is a step nearer to your goal. Congratulate yourself, feel proud.
Make it easy for yourself enlist the guidance of a mentor, don’t do it all alone, source products, build websites, and learn all the marketing before you start to earn. With a mentor to guide you along a tried and tested path you will have excellent products provided, sales pages, and training, and you will not have to suffer information overload. You will also have the support of others learning at the same time.
So to sum up, believe in yourself, visualise daily the end result accomplished, and with a mentor you can start earning whilst you are learning the techniques necessary.
