Search Engine Optimization Using Back Links

Every website on the internet needs search engine optimization techniques to help increase the traffic to the pages. Search engine optimization is any action that causes the search engines to recognize your relevance to a particular keyword and thus suggest your website before they suggest another website that has similar material. This sounds pretty straightforward and easy, and for the most part it is easy.

Search engine optimization is only successful for the people who really put some effort into what they are doing. In order for your search engine optimization to be productive you have to diligently keep adding back links, informative articles, responses to relative blogs, and join forums on your web site topic. The use of back links is probably one of the most important things you will do in your SEO campaign.

Back links are connections that transport you from one web page to another web page. There are some rules for establishing these connections.

1. You must have the permission of the page owner before you can place a link from their page to yours.

2. You must have information on your web pages that is clearly related to the information on the page you are establishing a link to.

3. You must keep a watchful eye on the link to make sure that it works.

Why are back links so important to your SEO campaign? These links allow someone that is reading something on one web page to move their cursor over your link and be immediately taken to your page. The reader is already interested in the main topic of the pages you have. You may sell products that are related to something that is written on the other page. The person can continue to gather information, or find products, that they are already interested in, with one click of the mouse.

The reason you have to check your links so frequently to make certain that they work is that when a person moves their cursor to your web address link they are interested in seeing the material you are supposed to have there. If the link is broken and they are not immediately transported to your page then they will simply return to the original page and find another link to another website. More than likely they will make their purchase from the other website and you will lose sales and profits.

The importance of these links also lies in the fact that those pesky spiders that creep over our web pages reading all of the information there report the existence of the link to the search engines that send them on their fishing expedition. The spiders do not just see the link and assume it is good, they actually follow the link, and when it works and takes them to a relevant page they tell their dispatchers of the connection and that you appear to be gaining in popularity. When the link does not work they report this information to their dispatchers as well.
