What Is Your Understanding of Search Engine Optimization?

Everyone talks about the necessity of SEO [Search Engine Optimization] but it’s not as easily understand as most of us believe. There is no guarantee of success simply because you have submitted your page to the search engines. There is a learning curve.

SEO is the “art” and “science” of making web pages attractive to the search engines. Sounds easy enough except we don’t have a clue what it means, right? The question is… how can I get my website to show up in the top 10 internet search hits that show up on the first page.

What’s so important about showing up on the first page? Think about it, few of us search on the web for anything beyond the first page, seldom do we look on page two, three, etc. Everyone wants to be on page one for the greatest hits to their website and hopefully more sales for your business.

Website owners have their websites redesigned [the smart ones do!] trying to get better positioning when people search because of the importance and value of optimal SEO. Sometimes there are huge changes reported, up to two and three hundred percent traffic increases and more sales are experienced with huge profits to the website owners bottom line.

For a variety of reasons some people refuse to recreate their websites, I’m guessing newbies along with the uninformed. It’s either because they don’t understand the true value of SEO to their business or simply a lack of focus and knowledge of what SEO can do for their websites.

In many cases it only takes a little research to see the value but it’s easy enough to be overwhelmed with the learning challenges. Mention web crawlers and it seems people get lost in another orbit of being lost or it’s their fear, the discovery of truth.

There’s an old adage about time and money that we need to understand. If you’re willing to spend the time learning SEO your bank account will receive new money long after the time spent for optimization.

In reality, we often make some things difficult in our minds before we have a clue about the challenge. One person finds SEO easy and once you get the hang of it you will most likely feel the same way.

Don’t allow fear or the usual roadblocks to spoil your desire and willingness to make SEO part of your expertise. One day, one step at a time, is all it takes for 99% of your worries or fears to be overcome by simply taking ACTION. You can do it by setting your mind on the positive instead of allowing a negative thought to enter your mind.

Your first step is to set a time limit, a specific date when you plan to graduate or fully accomplish the task at hand. Write it down and move forward each day to become an SEO expert.
